Dryvit Systems, Inc., the manufacturer of NewBrick and North America’s leading manufacturer of exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS), announced today that PGA Tour Professional Brad Faxon has signed an endorsement deal with Dryvit to promote NewBrick.
Dryvit launched NewBrick in January 2017, offering architects, contractors, and building owners a breakthrough product that matches clay brick’s classic size and appearance while offering state-of-the-art engineering and lightweight technology to meet today’s building challenges.
Faxon is an eight-time PGA tour winner who currently plays on the PGA Champions Tour, previously known as the PGA Senior Tour. He is also a current on-air golf analyst and commentator for FOX Sports. Faxon is a noted philanthropist, having created the Andrade-Faxon Charities for Children with fellow PGA Tour Pro Billy Andrade in 1990. The charity has donated more than $8 million dollars since its creation for needy children in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. Faxon and Andrade also co-host the annual CVS Charity Classic.
Faxon is considered one of golf’s greatest all time putters, a reputation that led to his collaboration with world famous putter designer Scotty Cameron, whose renowned Titleist Laguna 2.5 putter head was inspired by Faxon.
“Brad Faxon is one of the golfing world’s most respected players, a testament to his eight PGA wins and his work off the course in improving the lives of countless children through his generous charitable work,” said Dryvit CEO and President Mike Murphy. “Brad is also a player with tremendous precision on the green, a record achieved through his athletic talent and his use of the best technology available to him. Brad embodies our commitment to excellence and technological innovation, making him the perfect ambassador for Dryvit and NewBrick.”
Faxon’s interest in becoming an ambassador for NewBrick was spurred by the Rhode Island roots he shares with Dryvit and the unexpected connection he saw between the famous putter design he inspired and NewBrick’s technological innovation.
“Dryvit is a great company with innovative products that I’m proud to be associated with,” said Faxon. “When I was introduced to NewBrick, I loved how it leveraged lightweight technology to provide the world with a completely new option for designing and building brick buildings. Throughout my career, I’ve always been mindful of how important it was to calibrate the perfect weight for my putters so I totally get NewBrick’s appeal as a lightweight technology. I look forward to working with the Dryvit team to share NewBrick’s exciting story of innovation.”
In becoming a NewBrick ambassador, Faxon will be sporting Dryvit’s NewBrick logo on the golf shirts he wears during PGA events and charitable tournaments. He’ll also be promoting the technology’s benefits within architectural, construction and building ownership circles at private and community events. Dryvit will also be highlighting Faxon’s ambassador role for NewBrick in upcoming advertising.
Since its launch in January 2017, Dryvit’s NewBrick has been patented and is increasingly being used by architects, developers and building owners to provide brick cladding for newly built and renovated buildings.
At 1/12 the weight of conventional face brick and 1/4 the weight of thin brick, NewBrick provides significant advantages to the architect, installer and building owner. NewBrick’s lightweight status allows architects to design buildings with significantly less structural steel, lowering material cost and dropping a building’s weight so significantly that HVAC systems can be made smaller, yielding further savings. NewBrick’s lightweight design also speeds installation, allowing installers to reduce construction costs and accelerate the completion of buildings.
